2008 Scholarship Winners!

 

2008 --  $1500 Scholarship Recipients are:

 

Kirsten Nallenweg for the George Krivisky Scholarship

Catherine Martinez for the Alfred P. Nelson Scholarship

Joseph Stahura for the Warren H. Canright Scholarship

In February of 1960 the Chesterton Porter Rotary Club was chartered.  The Club is a philanthropic organization made up of Business and Community leaders.   The Rotary Club supports such community projects as Youth Baseball, 4-H, Boys and Girls Club, Scouts, Rebuilding Together, and the Chesterton Hometown Improvement Project.  International projects such as Polio Plus, building a schoolhouse in Africa, and clean water projects across the globe, just to name a few.

 

In addition to these efforts the Club awards three scholarships opportunities for ChestertonHigh School seniors.

 

The George Krivisky Scholarship awarded to a student pursing a degree in Education.

 

The Alfred P. Nelson Scholarship, which is an open scholarship, awarded to a student seeking a degree in any field.

 

And the Warren H. Canright Scholarship that is awarded to a student seeking a degree in vocational studies, including nursing, drafting and industrial arts.
